Heather Barberi is the Executive Director of the Grunin Foundation, a family foundation dedicated to unlocking the potential of the Central Jersey Shore by investing in innovation, equity, and collaboration. Under the shared leadership of Heather, the Foundation’s President, Board, and staff, the organization advances its mission by providing holistic support—funding, capacity building, and coalition work—to organizations committed to building a more just, equitable, and vibrant region.

Heather brings more than 20 years of experience in both the nonprofit and private sectors, with a strong background in strategic development, fundraising, marketing, and management. She began her career in nonprofit fundraising before transitioning into the corporate sector, where she held leadership roles in the technology and financial services industries. As Vice President of Field Marketing at TD Bank, Heather led regional marketing initiatives across multiple states and managed strategic partnerships with nonprofit and business organizations. Prior to joining the Grunin Foundation, she served as Executive Director of the Ocean County College Foundation, overseeing strategic fundraising and organizational operations.

Deeply committed to values-driven, trust-based philanthropy, Heather leads the Foundation’s efforts to foster strong, accountable relationships with grantees and partners. Her work is grounded in authenticity, vulnerability, collaboration, joy, and justice, ensuring the Foundation aligns its values with meaningful action.

Heather is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Ocean County, NJ.

Heather currently serves on the boards of the Ocean County YMCA, ArtPride New Jersey, Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania, and Ocean Partnership for Children, Inc.
